Monitoring Platform Usage

Audience: Group Leaders, District Leaders

Overview

The Platform Usage section provides a visual overview of engagement across your school or district. It displays login activity over time, helping you identify trends, monitor consistency, and recognize opportunities to increase participation.

Usage Metrics

The summary cards display key engagement metrics for the selected date range. 

Metric	Description
Online	Number of users currently logged in and active.
Visits	Total number of login sessions during the selected time period.
Users	Number of unique users who logged in at least once during the selected time period.
Power Users	Number of users with twenty-five or more platform sessions.

Understanding the Activity Chart

The line chart shows daily session counts across the selected date range. Each data point represents one day of activity. 

You can use the chart to:

• Hover over any data point to view the exact data and session count
• Identify engagement patterns (for example, increases during curriculum launches or decreases during holidays)
• Spot sustained drops in activity and follow up with educators as needed

This view helps leaders monitor consistency and proactively support implementation.

Viewing Detailed User Data

Each metric card (Online, Visits, Users, Power Users) is clickable. Selecting a metric opens a pop-up window displaying the users included in that total. 

For example:

• Select Visits to see users with the highest session counts
• Select Users to see everyone who logged in at least once

From the pop-up window, you can:

• Search for a specific user
• Select a user's name to view their profile
• Export the list to CSV

Filtering by Date Range

Use the date range filter at the top of the dashboard to adjust the reporting window. All Platform Usage metrics and the activity chart will update automatically. 

Available options include:

• 30 Days (default)
• Current School Year
• Previous School Year
• 7 Days
• 90 Days
• Custom Date Range (select a start and end date)

Collapsing the Section

Select the arrow icon in the top-right corner of the Platform Usage header to collapse or expand this section. This allows you to focus on additional reporting areas below, such as Usage Analytics.
