When students first log into Insights, they will reach a page welcoming them and asking them to confirm their identity. If the name displayed on the screen does not match the student’s name, please have the student log out (button in the top right corner of the screen) and log back in with the correct login information.
Upon confirming their identity, the student will proceed to the language selection screen in Insights. Choosing English or Spanish begins the assessment in the respective language. If an incorrect language is chosen, the student may log out and log back in, at which point they will be asked to choose the language again. Choosing a different language will reset the assessment, so any progress the student made with the first language will be discarded.
In the first part of Insights, the “host” character will read general directions. After the host is finished reading the directions on the page, the “READY!” button will turn from gray to yellow. When the student is ready to proceed, they should press the “READY!” button.
At this point, the assessment will launch and students may complete it independently.
Throughout the assessment, the student must press the “Continue” button at the bottom right of each page to submit responses. When all of the questions on a page have been answered, the button will turn yellow. To automatically save responses and continue to the next item, press the “CONTINUE” button.
If a student needs to take Insights in more than one session, the administrator should log the student out at the end of the first session by selecting the username in the top right corner of the browser and select “Logout.”
All data will be saved, and the last completed item will be recorded. When the student logs back into Insights, the student will return to the last question that they answered.
When student finish a Insights assessment, they will arrive to a page with a "Log out" button. They should press this "Log out" button to finish the assessment.
