How do the 7 Mindsets align with PBIS?

PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) is an evidence-based model proven to reduce disciplinary incidents and improve school safety.  Positive behavior management is another core tenant of the 7 Mindsets solution.  We have repeatedly, consistently, and reliably helped schools significantly reduce office referrals, minimize bullying, and improve school culture and climate.

The 7 Mindsets is a superb “wrap-around” for any PBIS program.  Given the holistic approach contained in the 7 Mindsets, deep connections can easily be made between the 7 Mindsets and any PBIS framework.  This allows our solution, through the structure of our curriculum, to reinforce the existing program while enhancing its impact for more positive outcomes throughout the school. 

In fact, we have many schools that utilize the 7 Mindsets curriculum as their PBIS program.  In these instances, the positive, mutually respectful language of the Mindsets has become the norm in the classroom, lunchroom, and gymnasium.  Here, the 7 Mindsets function as the basic framework for restorative discipline in which the student utilizes the language of the 7 Mindsets to reflect, discuss, and ultimately “right the wrong” of their negative action.
